Day 5 Falkland Islands

What a great day visiting the Falklands.  We are adding pics so you can see some of the amazing sights we saw.  We made stops at 2 of the islands today and will be stopping at the largest city in the Falklands, Stanley tomorrow.  At the first stop we hiked just under a mile to see the rookeries of Rock hopper penguins and Albatross.  The second stop involved a 2 mile hike to see the same, however the caretakers for the owners of the only farm on West Point Island invited all 127 of us for tea and cakes!  Quite a spread of items the wife had baked.  I cannot imagine living in such an isolated area as this....beautiful, but so desolate.

We made it to shore.  In the background is the shipwreck of the Protector III which breached in 1969.

Just under a mile hike, led us to this amazing rookeries for Albatross and Rock Hopper Penguins

  2. Not sending out e-mails to alert to an update...the internet is so slow trying to keep our minutes efficient as possible. Just can't believe that so far we are having warmer temps than all of you!
